Music inspired by the short story El Sexto Sentido by Mexican poet Amado Nervo
Produced by Jairo Guerrero & Mario Sanmartí
“Who knows if man is not yet prepared to see the things that lie beyond today! Imagine the terror, the bewilderment, the despair that would seize us if we were to glimpse our destiny.”

The album Sexto Sentido, inspired by the short story El Sexto Sentido by poet Amado Nervo (1870-1919), created by sound artist Jairo Guerrero —recognized for his experimental approach to electronic music— and co-produced by Mario Sanmartí, two-time GRAMMY® Award winner, fuses electronic atmospheres and rhythms with the organic textures of the piano, achieving a unique harmonic and melodic dimension. This album reimagines Nervo’s work through a contemporary sonic experience, inviting listeners to rediscover the story from a new perspective.
The story explores extrasensory perception and the visions of the protagonist, who, after an operation, acquires the ability to see the future.
The music creates a sonic space that mirrors his new reality, with the piano —as the central voice of the work— representing this seer of futures and the mental and emotional conflicts he faces.

Each chapter is accompanied by the tracks of the album, and the text highlights the exact moments where the music complements the story, taking this literary experience to a deeper level of sensory connection — just as Nervo himself proposed through the very concept of the “sixth sense.”

Amado Nervo (1870–1919) was a Mexican poet, novelist, and diplomat, renowned for his spirituality and lyrical sensitivity. His work, influenced by Modernismo, explores themes such as love, faith, and death, with notable poems including La amada inmóvil and En paz.
El sexto sentido, first published in 1913 in Mundial Magazine (a journal directed from Paris by Rubén Darío), is considered one of the pioneering works of science fiction and fantastic literature in Latin America. It delves into mysticism and extrasensory perception, telling the story of a man who acquires the ability to perceive the future and the intangible — reflecting on life and human nature with extraordinary sensitivity.
